How to read Philippine salary data

Salary figures only help if you know what they include. Philippine job postings mix gross monthly pay, gross annual pay including 13th month, and take-home pay after SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and withholding tax. A quoted ₱40,000 can mean roughly ₱36,000 in the bank, and an annual figure may or may not include the mandatory 13th-month pay under Presidential Decree 851.

This page pulls live job-posting data so you can see what employers are currently advertising by role and region, rather than relying on survey figures that are often several years old. Postings skew toward vacancies being actively hired for, so they tend to reflect current market rates more quickly than published salary surveys — but they also skew toward roles with high turnover.

Use the ranges as a negotiating reference point, then run the number through our take-home pay calculator to see what actually reaches your account after statutory deductions. NCR figures usually run well above regional rates, so compare within your own region before concluding an offer is low.

  • Most postings quote gross monthly pay before SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and tax.
  • 13th-month pay is a legal requirement, not a bonus — confirm whether a quoted annual figure already includes it.
  • Allowances (transport, meal, communication) are sometimes non-taxable up to limits and can be worth more than a small basic-pay increase.
  • Regional wage boards set minimum wages separately for each region, so the floor differs across the country.

Salary questions

Is the salary shown gross or net?

Job postings almost always quote gross pay. Deduct employee-share SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG contributions plus withholding tax to get take-home pay. Our Take-Home Pay Calculator does this with current contribution tables.

How much should I ask for when changing jobs?

A move between employers in the Philippines commonly comes with a step up over current basic pay, but the defensible number is the current market range for the role in your region. Bring the range, your current total package including allowances, and the specific scope you would be taking on.

Does 13th-month pay count as part of my salary?

It is a separate mandatory benefit equal to at least one twelfth of basic pay earned during the calendar year, payable on or before 24 December. Treat it as additional to monthly pay unless an employer explicitly quotes a 13-month annual package.

Why do rates differ so much between regions?

Cost of living, industry concentration, and regional minimum wage orders all differ. NCR and nearby CALABARZON areas carry the highest rates for most office roles, while rates in other regions can be materially lower for the same title.
